Understanding The Times:

Iran, Islam, and Today's Challenges

Our recent gathering brought together local leaders and citizens for an eye-opening discussion on the challenges facing communities across North Texas and the nation. Attendees heard from Abteen Vaziri, a Dallas-based businessman, attorney, and congressional candidate whose personal story left a lasting impact on the audience. Born in Iran, Vaziri shared his family's escape from the Islamic regime and spoke passionately about growing up with firsthand knowledge of oppression, censorship, and the loss of individual freedoms. His testimony offered a sobering reminder of the realities many people around the world still face today.

Throughout the evening, Vaziri connected his life experiences to current cultural and political trends in the United States, warning against complacency and emphasizing the importance of protecting the freedoms Americans often take for granted. Drawing from his successful career in finance, real estate, and law, he emphasized the need for civic engagement, strong leadership, and open dialogue within communities. Guests were deeply engaged as he explained how ideologies rooted in intolerance and division can slowly gain influence when disguised as acceptance or political correctness. His message resonated strongly with attendees who appreciated both his candor and his unique perspective as someone who lived under authoritarian rule.

Bobby Gallana, Rockwall County Commissioner, also addressed the audience, providing updates on important local developments and concerns affecting the community's future. Gallana spoke about ongoing discussions surrounding proposed religious and cultural projects in the area, as well as the importance of transparency, public involvement, and responsible leadership at the local level. His remarks focused on preserving community values while ensuring residents remain informed and engaged in decisions impacting Rockwall County. Together, both speakers created a powerful and thought-provoking evening that encouraged attendees to stay involved, informed, and committed to protecting the freedoms and values that unite their communities.

Voices For Truth Series

Throughout the program, our speakers, Dr. Yoram Solomon, Texas State Representative Katrina Pierson, Benji Gershon, and Rockwall County Commissioner Bobby Gallana, shared powerful presentations offering insights into Israel’s relationship with the United States, the realities of Jewish life today, and personal connections with Israel. From historical perspectives to present-day experiences, their messages shed light on the truth about Israel and the importance of standing against misinformation and rising antisemitism.

We were also grateful to feature several wonderful local vendors, offering everything from handmade candles to chocolates and fresh cinnamon rolls. Their participation helped make the evening even more special, and we appreciate their support of our mission.
